Sci-Fi promoter Forrest Ackerman dies (Reuters)

This isn't going to mean much to anyone but a Science Fiction fan. (Or maybe a former Science Fiction fan like myself.) But I can tell you all that his loss within the genre will be mourned. Me, I'm among those who never forgave him for the term "Sci-Fi" but aside from that I had to respect the man for who he was and for his steadfast devotion to Science Fiction. -BV

"Forrest Ackerman, a writer and editor who coined the term 'Sci-Fi' and helped inspire the likes of author Ray Bradbury and film maker George Lucas, has died. He was 92."
