Health providers' 'conscience' rule to take effect (Los Angeles Times)

This bill is frightening. It could lead to hospitals refusing care to a wide variety of patients for an almost endless variety of reasons. My feeling is that it can't stand up in court...but there's going to be a lot of misery before it gets there. -BV

The last-minute Bush administration declaration lets doctors, clinics, receptionists and others refuse to give care they find morally objectionable.
